I'm Speaking at Rubyconf!

September 5th, 2007

I woke up this morning to find a very exciting email sitting in my inbox. My talk for Rubyconf got accepted and I will be presenting on Sunday, the 4th of November. The schedule looks awesome and I am really looking forward to going this year.

I saw your comment over on Derek's article about moving from Rails back to PHP. "Why didn't you hire a Rails core member? Who is Jeremy Kemper? I have been programming in Ruby for 4 years now and I have never heard of him. I think you need to reconsider who you hire next time to do things the Rails way." Um.. http://www.rubyonrails.org/core "Jeremy Kemper (bitsweat) is a programmer at 37signals hailing from Portland, Oregon. Hot on the heels of DHH, he has been the most active contributor to Rails. He's knee deep in pretty much all aspects of the framework and one of the top batters against new, incoming tickets." ** most active contributor to rails ** Any response?

I am not sure who is responsible for this, but I did not post any comments concerning Jeremy Kemper. I do know who Jeremy is, what is this all about? What is Derek's article? I think that there is an obvious misunderstanding here. How did this get back over to my blog? I am very confused here and would like to know what this is all about and what calling me an idiot is going to do to help the situation. If you know me at all I am a very big supporter of both the Ruby and Rails communities and do what I can to help support them, not make them look bad.
